Co-founder of FemmeDecks alongside Nina Kintsurashvili, Angelia is a movement artist, Dj, live visual artist, and curator. She received a BA in Dance from University of Iowa and will be starting her MA at School of the Art Institute of Chicago this September.

She presented work at Witching Hour Festival 2019, a movement-based performance piece incorporating live video projection and live original compositions by Brendan Hanks. She, under FemmeDecks, curated an event at Witching Hour 2021 and participated in a panel discussion titled “Lessons and Vision on Independent Space”: discussing the ways that independent cultural spaces can support and enact intersectional justice work, alongside John Engelbrecht and Kalmia Strong of Public Space One. She has performed and/or presented work at Mission Creek Festival with Hannibal Buress (2014), with New Territory Dance Company (2015), and in collaboration with Eloy Barragán, created movement for Sci Fi CoLab Dinner at Motley Cow (2017). She has released techno mixes on Somersault Records (2021 & 2022), and on Jenny Arcade’s Mixed Emotions podcast (2022).

Her work with movement, music, and community organizing has been written up by Little Village Mag, The Gazette, KRUI, Press-Citizen and The Daily Iowan. Her utmost goal is to shine a spotlight on up-and-coming artists that face challenges in the industry due to their gender, race and/or sexual orientation, and to construct inclusive spaces with high standards of safety for all artists and attenders.

Angelia is new to mixing tracks but a veteran on the dance floor. She cultivates atmospheres ranging from lofi and deep house to minimal techno, acid, breaks, and electro.
